BRIEF
Margate NOW is the sixth Margate Festival – an ambitious, cross-artform festival; an inclusive and egalitarian programme rooted in Margate. Celebrating an extraordinary range of artists it will animate unusual spaces and is conceived as a journey through town creating a sense of curiosity and buzz around landmark locations and the current moment.
The programme will take place alongside the Turner Prize 2019 exhibition at Turner Contemporary, running from 28th September 2019 to 12th January 2020.
Proposals should respond to the theme NOW and could be:

Explorative – unusual spaces, accidental encounters

Visible – urgent, spectacular, public realm

Collaborative – dialogue, discussion, development

Large-scale – where people come together

Small-scale – providing intimate experiences

Interdisciplinary – art, performance, music, talks, workshops, film, installation
Grants:
The maximum support offered is £2000. It’s anticipated that the majority of grants will be £500 or less. Please apply through this call to include your event in the festival even if you do not need funding. Successful applicants notified beginning of May 2019.
